I have looked into PS1 for that very reason - coax digital out and supposedly good sound. for now i am going to stick with finding NEC external cdroms from the 90s. heh. If i ever get a TV - the XBMC is probably what i will choose. Don't both of those come with a optical out, and a remote option. Plus it could dubble as a cheap DVD player.
