Best part was the lesbian bar.
I probably shouldn't say anything other than that, it might start to shift the conversation into an awkward day dream type mode.

Harper, dude-man! You and Charlie were awesome. Funny, insightful, but probably a bit scary to the "old guard" who had sponsored the event. The way you guys looked and talked caused a spontaneous flashback to the dotcom era communication/generation gap (there's an old set of memories), where the sponsors and grayer types were saying WTF are these guys and WTF are these guys talking about. Hell, the Internet is Serious Business. RLY? RLY! This is no time to joke around.

Thanks for tutelage in the Hummer--you forgot to blog about that! But I'll get to it in my next blog entry or two...

And you are so right about politics on campus. They still can be very political places. But the real point, if I get it, is that speakers and profs are in positions of power and aren't supposed to use that position to favor one candidate over the other. It assumes that people are sort of sheeplike and easily hypnotized by speakers with big holes in their ears, shiny heads, or convincingly mesmerizing slides. But there it is. Hope to keep in touch with you and Charlie and grab a beer in Chi-town with you soon. Vote for Obama!! And Go Cubbies Go!
